SITUATED in the heart of Killorglin town, this resource centre has been a focal point for the community for the past 13 years, employing 14 people. It has steadily provided services and supports to people living in Killorglin and the wider mid-Kerry area with an average of 800 people accessing the services on a weekly basis.

Services also include an affordable and profession­al childcare service offering a Breakfast Club, Pre-School and After School for more than 80 children. This wonderful resource delivers in-house Play Therapist, Art Therapist, and Music Therapist for young children. Also provided is a low cost counsellin­g service for individual­s and teenagers who are guided in a caring and non-judgementa­l way.

Parenting workshops, training for unemployed people, informatio­n workshops and supports for people with a disability also form the nucleus of this vibrant centre.

The Volunteers and staff underpin every aspect of the achievemen­ts of Killorglin Family Resource Centre and are without question the heart and soul of the organisati­on. It is their passion that enables the organisati­on to continue this successful enterprise. Motivated by training and up-skilling, the recognitio­n of their work, internally and externally, is there for all to see. The Killorglin Family Resource Centre is certainly committed to tackling the challengin­g issues that affect its community head-on.
