Bank helps showcase local businesses

-

BANK of Ireland is to showcase and encourage local business at a Dingle Enterprise Town event to be held in Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne next week.

The bank has been running its Enterprise Town initiative nationally since 2015 and the initiative is now being held in Dingle for the first time with the aim of helping people “grow their local economy while helping to foster a renewed sense of purpose and identity for the whole community”

The initiative aims to promote the business, agricultural, sports and educational facilities on the peninsula and to support and encourage the development and growth of local businesses. A key part of this is the ‘showcasing your community’ event in Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne from 6 – 9pm on Friday, October 20, where rugby analyst Brent Pope will be the special guest and people will be able to network and learn more about locally available business and other facilities. Essentially this is a ‘shop local’ promotion – the thinking being that if people know what’s available on the peninsula they’ll be more likely to do busines here.

“We want the people of Dingle to come out and support local businesses and the community and see the level of enterprise taking place here,” said Dingle Bank of Ireland Branch Manager, Michael McCarthy.
