Ireland win Seniors Home Internationals

THE Irish team which included Ballybunion’s Margaret McAuliffe won the Ladies Seniors Home Internationals at Newport in Wales last week winning all three of their matches against Wales, Scotland and England to finish top of the pile with three points, one ahead of England who were second with two, while Wales and Scotland won a half-point each.

Margaret McAuliffe played in three of the six matches, all of them in the foursomes partnering Catherine Reilly from the Heath GC, winning one against Scotland and losing to both Wales and England.
