Fisher hits 61 on St Andrews

AFTER England’s Ross Fisher fired a course record 61 at St Andrews in the Dunhill Links Championship on Sunday the legendary South African Gary Player tweeted: “Whilst I’m delighted for the player, it’s quite sad to see the old course at St Andrews brought to her knees by today’s ball and equipment”.

Fisher was actually closing in on a remarkable 59, having driven to the edge of the green at the 18th, but he three-putted from the hollow, known worldwide as the “Valley of Sin”.
