THE Kerry Citizens Informatio­n Service aims to reach all the county’s communitie­s, and will next week venture beyond Kerry’s major towns.

Providing informatio­n on issues that include employment rights, housing, social welfare, family matters, pensions, and more, the service is described as impartial, confidenti­al and free. A mobile unit is offered for those who find it difficult to attend the main centres and will be on the move next week.

On Monday, November 6, the unit will be located at Garvey’s Super Valu in Castleisla­nd from 10am to 12.30pm and from 2pm to 4pm at Rathmore Community Centre. On Tuesday, the South Square in Sneem will host from 10am until midday, before moving to Healy Rae’s Mace in Kilgarvan from 1.30pm to 4pm. Wednesday will see the Post Office in Asdee (10am to 11.15am), Heaphy’s Centra Ballylongf­ord (11.30am to 1.30pm) and Cahill’s Supervalu in Ballybunio­n (2-4pm) will all hold sessions, and the unit will be in Holy Ground Car Park, Dingle, from 10am to 4pm on Thursday, The week concludes with sessions opposite the Royal Valentia Hotel (10am to 11am), Portmagee Community Centre (11.15am to 12.30pm), Glen Day Care Centre (1.30pm to 2.30pm) and Ballinskel­ligs Post Office (2.45pm to 4pm).

The service also has a new location in Dingle. Outreach sessions are available in Kerry Education Centre, Rice House, Goat Street, from 10am to 2pm on the third Tuesday of each month. Pre-Christmas services are available on Tuesday 17 October, 21 November 19 December.
