KILLORGLIN based fintech firm Fexco has marked the 10the anniversary of its partnership working with Australian airline Qantas and its low cost subsidiary Jetstar with a presentation to Qantas CEO Alan Joyce.

Fexco, a global leader in FinTech, payments and business solutions, has been providing its flagship Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) services to Jetstar and Qantas since 2007.

The presentation – of an engraved Currach – was made during President Michael D Higgins recent state visit to Australia. Fexco were one of 55 companies who travelled to Australia to take part in an Enterprise Ireland and IDA trade mission organised to coincide with President Higgins trip.

FEXCO’s partnership with Jetstar began in 2007 when Alan Joyce was CEO of the Melbourne based budget carrier. Jetstar’s cross-border online ticket sales service, using Fexco’s DCC system, grew quickly and it now exceeds that of the parent Qantas brand.

Soon after the launch with Jetstar, Fexco also began offering its services on Qantas.com.

Fexco recently completed a multi-year renewal which saw an expansion of its services to the Jetstar Japan brand and an expansion of the currencies supported.

The expansion of services across the group’s brands mean that Qantas and Jetstar customers are able to choose to pay for flights in their own currencies when buying from online or using the Qantas and Jetstar mobile Apps.

“We’re delighted to mark this tremendous milestone in our relationship with the Qantas Group. During these 10 very successful years we have helped millions of Qantas and Jetstar customers transact in their own currency offering greater levels of customer service, choice and transparency when buying their airline ticket online and delivering a consistent ancillary revenue stream for the airlines online distribution channel,” said Fexco Asia Pacific President John Kiely.

In addition to its work with Qantas, Fexco is also joint owner – with Japan’s Nippon Kanzai – of PICA Group, a property services provider in Australia with over 700 staff and 30 branches.
