Walsh hails effort and performance

-

KILMOYLEY selector Joe Walsh was particularly pleased with his side’s level of performance, especially in the second half in a game which was delayed until this particular juncture in the season, due to a number of unavoidable factors. Having represented Kerry last year at provincial level he offered his support to the current Champions in their quest to land a first ever Munster crown at this level.

“We were delighted with them because we take the County League seriously. We were delighted to have a go, we were missing a few first team lads, but the lads who came in did excellent, delighted with the second half performance.

“The few goals early on was going to be, look you can’t do that to Ballyduff, give them that start. We came back and fought, and we are thrilled with them, our second half display.

“Very close to it (getting a draw), that’s the way it is, there was only a puck of a ball in it (Championship semi final), like last year, and that’s it with Ballyduff and Kilmoyley there won’t be much in it.

We were supposed to play the fixture there in August, but we were both allowed time to put it back, because we were playing in the Championship, so that was the story, ideally it would have been the time for it, yeah. Both clubs agreed to put it back, so that was it.

“We wish Ballyduff the very best next week in the Munster Championship. I hope they have a right go at them, I think they will, and hope they get the support and, wish them well.

“It would be great if they could get to the final of it.”
