FAI JUNIOR CUP FOURTH ROUND

TWO Kerry clubs are taking the county flag into the fourth round of the FAI Junior Cup next Sunday when they travel across the county boundary to play Desmond League opponents.

Castleisland travel to West Limerick to play Carrig Celtic while Fenit Samphires travel in the same direction to play Glin Rovers.

Both sides will find it difficult to win against these strong Desmond League sides and they will have to play out of their skins to secure victory.

However, both sides have already taken a few major scalps to get this far in the competition and they will go into their games in a confident frame of mind.

Castleisland got a walkover from Desmond League side Shannonside in the second round while they beat Kerry Premier A Champions Killarney Athletic 2-0 in the last round.

Meanwhile, Fenit beat Ennis Town 4-0 in the second round and defeated Kilrush Rangers 4-1 in the third round.

While both sides face a very difficult task they are capable of winning their games if they play to their full potential and everyone will be keeping their fingers crossed they can come home with 2 wins in the bag on Sunday.

Kerry’s other side left in the competition Killarney Celtic are still waiting to play their third round game against Clare side Moher Celtic having it postponed twice over the last couple of weeks.

However, the game goes ahead at Celtic Park this Sunday and it will be a big surprise if Celtic don’t win this one. If they win this game they will be away to Clare side Newmarket Celtic B in the fourth round of the competition.
