Dingle Bay get first win of season

DENNY PREMIER A Mastergeeh­a 1 Dingle Bay Rovers 2

DINGLE Bay Rovers registered their first win of the season at Killbrean Park on Sunday but had to work very hard to defeat a spirited Mastergeeh­a side.

Sean Fitzgerald and Joe Sheehy scored for the West Kerry side and James Nagle got the Mastergeeh­a goal.

DENNY PREMIER B Killarney Celtic B 2 Tralee Celtic 2

KILLARNEY Celtic B ended Tralee Celtic’s 100% record at Celtic Park on Friday evening when they held them to a 2-2 draw. Fergal Moynihan and Chris Kerins scored for Tralee Celtic who remain unbeaten after 6 games with 5 wins and a draw. Meanwhile, Killarney Celtic picked their first point of the season after 5 outings.

Killorglin 1 CSKA Tralee 0

KILLORGLIN bounced back after last weeks defeat with a good win over CSKA in a tight game. Both sides had plenty of chances in the early part of the game but could not secure a goal

Jason Browne had a couple of great stops in the Killorglin goals and Paul McKenna was unlucky not to score for Killorglin when he slid in at the back post but his shot hit the crossbar.

It remained scoreless at the break and Killorglin brought in Dan Whittleton for Aaron Foley in the second half.

The game was quite open and fast paced after this with again chances at both ends with Audie Dunlea and Sean Costello both unlucky not to score for Killorglin.

In the 70th minute David Coffey came on for Killorglin and HE had an immediate impact running on to a great through ball from Dan Whittleton and slotted it away to give Killorglin the lead.

CSKA upped their game and put Killorglin under some pressure but a couple of defensive substituti­ons with Gary Flynn and Dillon Carey coming in Killorglin held out for an important win and a good result against a strong CSKA squad.

AC Athletic 0 Camp United 1

AFTER losing their first two games Camp United got three points on the board at Mounthawk Park on Sunday after a hard earned win over AC Athletic.

For a long time it looked as if a share of the spoils was on the cards but a Fionn Coakley goal grabbed the three points for the West Kerry side.

DENNY DIVISION 1A Sporting Listowel 2 Ballyheigu­e Athletic 3

BALLYHEIGU­E Athletic moved up to a challengin­g position in the league table with a good win over Sporting Listowel in a closely contested game at Mounthawk Park on Friday evening. Paudie Carroll, Frankie Flaherty and Niall Cane scored for Ballyheigu­e and Brian Greaney and Jonathan Twoomey were on the mark for Sporting Listowel.

DENNY DIVISION 2A Tralee Bay 3 Ballybunio­n 1

TRALEE Bay are beginning to find their feet in this division and they recorded another good win on Sunday against Ballybunio­n who are really struggling this season with just a point from 5 games.

The man of the match for the winners was Wayne Guthrie who scored a hat trick. Jamie Culloty was the Ballybunio­n goal scorer.

DENNY DIVISION 2B Ballyheigu­e Athletic B 2 Sneem Santos 2

THESE two sides had to settle for a point each after a tight game ended in stalemate. Jimmy O’Brien and Sean O’Connor scored for Sneem Santos while Noel Carroll and Brian O’Riordan scored for Ballyheigu­e.

FAI UNDER 17 CUP Killarney Athletic 5 Ennis Town 2

THIS was a great win for Athletic against a strong Clare side. Tadhg Doolan (2), Caoimin Boyne, Harry Potts and Connie Cremin scored for the winners.

DENNY YOUTHS LEAGUE Listowel Celtic 2 The Park 4

THE Park collected the three points in great style with a good win over Listowel Celtic. Adam Ward (2), Jordan Barry and Aaron Ward scored for the Tralee side.
