Kerry shops vying to be Ireland’s best

TWO Kerry shops are vying to be named as Ireland’s shop of the year.

Garvey’s Supervalu, Tralee and the Vodafone outlet in Killarney are the only finalists from Kerry that are in the shake up for The Retail Excellence Ireland Shop of The Year award.

Retail Excellence, the largest retail industry representative organization in Ireland, will announce the National Store of the Year winner at a black-tie Awards banquet this Saturday, November 11 at the Malton Hotel in Killarney.

David Fitzsimons Chief Executive of Retail Excellence congratulated the tow Kerry outlets on making it through to the final of this year’s competition.

“Both Garvey’s Supervalu, Tralee and Vodafone Killarney are superb retail offerings in Kerry and we are delighted to see them progress to this stage of the competition,” he said.

“Our Awards process is very thorough from start to finish. We started the process last May with over 600 store entries and visited each of the Top30 stores left in this competition,” he said.

“As always, the competition is intense and with the coveted nature of the title every finalist has reached new heights in promoting retail excellence within their operations which makes it all the more difficult to select the overall winner. Unfortunately, there can only be one but their journey to this point is testament to the hard work of the owners, their staff and investment in their retail operations,” said Mr Fitzsimons.
