Big win for Abbeyfeale out west
WEST MUNSTER U-14 LEAGUE Corca Dhuibhne 19 Abbeyfeale 41
ABBEYFEALE made the long journey down west and came away with the spoils, Corca Dhuibhne certainly made it difficult for them and in fact trailed by only three points with 10 minutes left on the clock.
Buoyed by their vocal supporters, Corca Dhuibhne were putting the Abbeyfeale defence under some serious pressure but unfortunately a loose pass led to an Abbeyfeale try which was quickly followed by another to seal victory for the visitors.
The Corca Dhuibhne try scorers were fullback Cuán O’Muirearcheartaigh, hooker Daithí Baker and flanker Jimí Fenton with Cathal Galvin converting two of them.
Tralee 0 Castleisland 29
A TOUGH day for the young Tralee side with a bang in form Castleisland outfit having too much strength on a bitterly cold day at O’Dowd Park.
An impressive first half laid the foundation for the Castleisland victory with their scum and lineout working very effectively , while their big men ran strong lines to good effect.
The Castleisland try scorers were Seamus Fleming, Thomas Conway, Podge Brosnan, Denis Horan and Conor Wilkinson while Donal Daly slotted over two of the conversions.
MUNSTER U-16 CONFERENCE 2 Castleisland 29 Killorglin10
CASTLEISLAND scored tries from Jason Brosnan (2), Mathew O’Connor Adam Jensen and Conor Kerins with David Dillon landing two conversions against a Killorglin side that were short a number of regulars.
Castleisland led by 19-0 at half time and although the second half was a much closer affair, they were much too strong overall for Killorglin with Eric McCarthy in particular catching the eye.
Killarney 36 Kanturk 7
THE first attack from the Killarney side produced a try from Tomas Clifford duly converted by Donnchadh Grealy who finished the game with four conversions.
The first half continued with pressure continually being put on the North Cork side with additional tries from John McCarthy, Odeniz Koyun, Gary Randles and Jose Ferrero. Kanturk scored a converted try towards the end of the half.
The second half gave the opportunity for Killarney to use the bench and Craig McKenzie Vass, Evan Mannix and Brendan O’Donoghue added their names to the try scorers.
Tralee 21 Abbeyfeale 12
TRIES from Caomhin Finn and Fionn De Quatros along with three Seamus Lyne penalties and a conversion, helped Tralee to a good nine-point victory over Abbeyfeale.
