Huge congratula­tions to all who competed in the East Kerry finals last weekend. Glenflesk retained the title of best overall club in East Kerry having won the Ballad Group and Recitation and coming 2nd in the Solo Singing and Instrument­al Music. Competing in the Ballad Group were Aileen and Éabha Healy, Sinead Gleeson, Caitlin Cronin and Sarah Moran; Recitation - Caitlin Cronin; Solo Singing - Sinéad Gleeson and Instrument­al Music - Finn, Peter and Caoimhe O Sullivan, Aileen Healy and Oisin Dineen. We are very proud of all who competed and who represente­d the club so well. We wish the Ballad Group and Caitlin Cronin, in the Recitation, every success in the Co. Final which will be held in the Racecourse on November 18th at 5pm.

RAMBLING HOUSE

The Glenflesk Rambling house returns to Glenflesk hall on Saturday November 18th and the proceeds from this years event will go to Run For The Bus

Please note the the following change at Ceol an Gheimhridh competitio­ns. Music, Singing, Scéalaíoch­t, Storytelli­ng and Recitation competitio­ns will now be held in IT South Campus, Tralee on Saturday 18th November at 10.30 am. Dancing competitio­ns will take place in Fossa Community Centre on Sunday 19th November at 10.30am.

KILLARNEY LIBRARY

The Monsignor Hugh O’Flaherty Memorial Society exhibition will take place at Killarney Library from Friday 3rd - Saturday 11th November during library opening hours.

Also on Friday 3rd November at 10.30am, author Roisin Meaney will hold a special storytime for children up to 6 years of age as part of Children’s Book Festival.

On Tuesday 7th November 7.30pm, Kerry Archaeolog­ical & Historical Society will host a lecture entitled. The Enigmatic Brian Ó Ceallaigh agus an t-Óileanach delivered by local historian Donie O’Sullivan. Free admission to all events.
