VEON’S NEW CASTLEISLAND REGIONAL OFFICE

-

MARTIN Ferris TD, Sinn Féin’s junior spokesperson on Agriculture and Fisheries and member of the Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine officially opened Veon’s new regional office at the Advance Factory Unit, Castleisland Mart in September.

Deputy Ferris welcomed the new office as a vote of confidence in the commercial forestry sector in Kerry and the increasingly important role that forestry plays in providing income diversification opportunities for farmers especially in light of continuing uncertainty over the effects of Brexit on farm incomes.

Veon is Ireland’s leading forestry company and has expanded over the past year to meet the professional forestry needs of farmers and forest owner clients. With an additional seven foresters including two additional regional managers appointed by Veon this year, it is now truly nationwide with offices in Castleisland Mart, Enniscorthy, Drumshanbo, Athenry and Dublin.

“With Brexit looming in the background it makes more sense now than ever before to protect future income streams and take advantage of the grants and premia payments available from the Forest Service” according to Chris Byrne.

Both Chris and Daniel are based in the Castleisland Mart office and welcome farmers and landowners to drop in for a chat about the options available to them under the new forestry programme.

Veon has 25 years unrivalled harvesting management and is at the forefront of delivering government targets for the Irish Forestry industry. Contact Chris Byrne 087 361 5024 or Daniel O’Connell 087 607 1539 or visit www.veon.ie
