1. CIRCUS FESTIVAL ON ITS WAY TO TRALEE

THE National Circus Festival of Ireland is making its way back to Tralee this weekend and excitement is already building for what promises to be an entertaini­ng few days.

Starting tomorrow night, Thursday November 9 and running until Sunday November 12, there will be plenty for everyone to enjoy over the weekend.

Juggling, acrobats, clowns and a movie night are all part of the lineup over the weekend - the full lineup and tickets for which can be bought at www.circusfest­ival.ie

2. ARDFERT TO HOST ‘TASTE OF CHRISTMAS’

A DATE to mark in your calendar is Thursday November 9, as Ardfert N.S prepares to hold its third year of the ‘Taste of Christmas’ cookery demonstrat­ion.

Taking place in Ballyroe Heights Hotel, the night will be presented by a number of award winning chefs from Tralee.

Featuring a complement­ary mulled wine and mince pie reception, tickets are set to cost €10 and are available from Croì Restaurant, Tralee and Ardfert School; tickets will also be available at the door on the night. Doors open at 7pm.

3. CLIMATE CHANGE TALK IN SIAMSA

TRANSITION Kerry will hold a climate change conference in Siamsa Tíre this coming Saturday November 11.

The talk will feature a number of talks on Kerry’s future over the next 10 years, guest speakers and strategies for community developmen­t, food security, sustainabl­e energy and much more.

4. LADIES TEA PARTY IN GNEEVEGUIL­LA

GNEEVEGUIL­LA N.S parents associatio­n are hosting a Ladies Tea Party on Saturday November 11 in the GAA Hall from 4pm to 7pm.

There will be music by ‘Celtra’ during the evening and organisers are encouragin­g all ladies to round up their family and friends for a great night

5. CONCERT IN BALLYLONGF­ORD HALL

THERE will be a fundraisin­g variety concert held in the Ballylongf­ord Parish Hall on Sunday NOvember 12 from 12pm to 7pm.

All proceeds from the day will go towards the Parish Hall sound system - tickets are 10.

6. CURRAHEEN TABLE QUIZ

THE Curraheen community room extension fund committee will host a fundraisin­g table quiz in Keane’s Bar & Restaurant on the night of Saturday November 11.

Starting at 9pm, there will be spot prizes on the night and a table of four is set to cost just €20 - all are welcome on the night.

7. WATCH CLASSIC BOND FILM IN TRALEE CINEMA

A NEW month in the Tralee Omniplex brings with it a new month of classic films set to be shown on the big screen.

With films such as ‘Stand By Me’ and ‘The Shining’ being shown over the last few weeks, this coming Monday November 13 sees the turn of the worlds most famous secret agent, James Bond.

Roger Moore will star as 007 in ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ on the night of November 13 with pre-booking through www/omniplex.ie recommende­d; the film will begin at 7:30pm.

8. LISTOWEL PREPS FOR FOOD FAIR

THE Listowel Arms Hotel is busying itself this week as it gets set to host the official opening night of the ‘Listowel Food Fair’.

Taking place on the night of November 9, special guests on the night will include TV3’s Simon Delaney and local chef Lizzy Lyons.

Tickets are currently on sale for the evening, will cost €15 and are available from the Listowel Arms Hotel, Lizzys Little Kitchen or the Nano Nagle.

9. ‘VIVALDI’ SHOW COMES TO SIAMSA TÍRE

THEATRE Lovett is bringing their brand new show to Siamsa Tíre next week - a show that has been described as “sparkling” and “riotously inventive”, it will take place on Thursday November 9.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are four parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel and the Tralee Junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old. People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.
