Funding for Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne

A GRANT of €224,824 sanctioned fo Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne for the 2017/2018 year, means that they can continue with their activities for the benefit of Irish in West Kerry.

As part of their work, Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne employ two full time staff, a part time museum curator and a co-ordinator for the Tús Maith scheme, Irish Language assistants in schools through Scéim na gCuintóirí Teanga, home language visitors as part of the Tús Maith scheme, and teachers for Irish language courses, singers, dancers and storytellers. They also employ artists in residence such as writers and singers and provide support to festivals and the youth. They also enable activities that help promote the language in local businesses, and activities for visitors in irish, as well as being instrumental in the implementation of the Plean Teanga
