Hospice Ball set for return on November25

-

CASTLEISLAND’S once annual Hospice Ball will make a grand return to the local scene at the River Island Hotel on the Saturday night of November 25 th.

Tickets are going well but there are still some left and they can be got from any of the local branch members.

For several years the local fund-raising branch organised a Black & White Ball before economic woes enveloped the land and they gave it a break for a while.

“In 2015 a dinner dance was held in conjunction with the Con Houlihan Memorial Weekend and such was the success that, as the saying goes: ‘it’s back by popular demand.’ said branch spokesperson, Liz Galwey.

The 2017 dinner dance will be held in the River Island hotel, Flog the Dog will provide the after dinner entertainment.

The event is expected to be a sell out so it is advisable to contact a committee member to book your tickets in advance.

The ball rejoins the Good Friday morning walk and the annual Sunflower Day as the local committee’s main fundraising activities.

This year’s Sunflower Day raised €3,003 in Castleisland – all of which went directly to the Kerry Hospice Foundation.

At the end of September the Cork Kerry Community Healthcare sent its congratulations to the Kerry Hospice Foundation on the completion of construction of its15-bed Specialist Palliative In-Patient Unit in Tralee.

The building, on the grounds of University Hospital Kerry, cost in the region of €6 million and equipping costs of the facility has been fully funded by Kerry Hospice Foundation.
