Kennedy rides five winners at weekend

- BY STEPHEN FERNANE

IT was a weekend that Dingle jockey Jack Kennedy will remember long after he hangs up his breeches as a double at Nass on Saturday was followed by a treble at Navan on Sunday - a feat that included three graded races for inform trainer Gordan Elliott.

Kennedy’s Nass double came courtesy of the French bred Ball D’Arc at odds of 6/4, followed by a win aboard the unfancied Mossbank at odds of 33/1.

Kennedy’s streak continued 24 hours later at Navan winning three races in succession. First up was 5/4fav Mengali Khan, while 8/15fav Apple’s Jade and 7/2fav Clarcam rounded off a memorable treble for the dynamic duo of Kennedy and Elliott.

Kennedy has so far notched 25 wins for the season (24 for Elliott) having missed all of this summer’s action when fracturing his left leg in a fall at Punchestown in May which side-lined him until mid August.

The focus shifts to Fairyhouse today (Wednesday) where Kennedy has five rides for Gordan Elliott.
