UNDER 16 BOYS: The only fixtures remaining in the Laune Rangers calendar is the Mid Kerry Under 16 Competitio­n. The competitio­n continued on Sunday afternoon with a trip to Milltown/Castlemain­e. Rangers were much better from the start of the game, with the first of their four goals coming in the 8th minute through Roan Moriarty. Further goals were added by James Hurley and Matt Leslie before the break. Half Time Score:- Milltown/Castlemain­e 0-4, Laune Rangers 3-8. Rangers scored a fourth goal in the opening minutes of the second half through Roan Moriarty -- an excellent finish following some super passing up the left flank. Milltown/ Castlemain­e played much better in the second half of the game and could have closed the gap on Rangers but for two great saves by Ronan Fitzpatric­k in goal for Rangers. Points were traded between the sides and a late penalty was successful­ly dispatched by Dylan O’Neill for Milltown/Castlemain­e to put some gloss on the scoreline. RACE NIGHT: Laune Rangers 23rd Annual Race Night will take place during Christmas again this year. Always a great night, it will take place in Bunkers Bar on Friday, December 29th. The market is now open in our Horse sale. As ever, horses can be bought for €90 and with owner, trainer and jockey listed on the programme, it offers the perfect opportunit­y to get involved in a syndicate and every horse has a one in ten chance of winning €250.

IRISH INTERNATIO­NAL: Well done to Peter Crowley who made his first appearance in an Ireland jersey on Sunday morning. Ireland were unfortunat­ely defeated by Australia in first test by 63-53 in the energy sapping heat at the Adelaide Oval.

AGM: The AGM of our club will be on Friday November 24 th in the clubhouse at 7.30 pm.

As always we will be seeking nomination­s for positions within the club. We are continuall­y seeking volunteers to assist us in the running and management of our ever expanding club. LISTRY SENIOR LADIES, who defeated Austin Stacks in the Mary Joe Curran Cup final on Sunday. Special mention to their trainers Damian Murphy and Nigel Wrenn ( Milltown Castlemain­e Senior players) and club chairperso­n Phil Tangney who have done wonderful work with these girls, bringing them to three finals this year. Having been very unlucky in the first two, they finally were rewarded for their commitment and dedication on Sunday afternoon. Captain Helena Hayes accepted the Mary Joe Curran shield on behalf of her team mates from Dan Kearney- Kerry LGFA. U16 Competitio­n Round 4: Well done to our U 16’s-under David Heasman and his management team- who drew with Keel/ Listry on Saturday afternoon. Next up in Round 5 is Laune Rangers, on Saturday next- November 11th. We will have home advantage so hopefully we can come away with a win! Throw in is at 3 pm. Seniors: The 2017 season came to a close for Milltown/Castlemain­e on Sunday afternoon as they faced Laune Rangers in the Mid Kerry O’Sullivan Cup Final in Glenbeigh. Final Score: - Laune Rangers 0-18, Milltown/Castlemain­e 0-7. Despite M/C’s panel and their management team of Linus Burke, Ger O’Sullivan and Fr. Kevin O’Sullivan trying their best, an excellent display for Rangers saw them end the 2017 season on a high.
