DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP

The group will have its coffee morning on Monday the 20th November in the Royal Hotel Killarney from 10am to 12noon -- World Diabetes Day. All are welcome so please come along and enjoy. Lots of spot prizes to be won on the day.

NOVEMBER MASS

Mass for people who died during the year in the Parish will take place in St Gertrude’s Church, Firies on the 17th November at 7.30pm.

TEAMS - Both our U12 teams were out on saturday last.Team 1 lost at home to killarney celtic 2-0 with all players playing well. Team 2 travelled to listowel and recorded a fine win with goals by Gerard Long & Tristan Keating.Out Youths travelled to Mastergeeha on saturday last in a competitive game with chances by both teams we were defeated 4-2 with our goal scored by Harry Doody & Liam Butler.On sunday last our seniors lost to Qpr on a scoreline of 4-0.we created plenty of chances but were luckless in front of goal.Best on the day were Dan o shea ,Ed Kerrisk ,Kevin o Sullivan ,Ger Fitzgerald & kenneth o Sullivan.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Firies Community Games AGM was held on Thursday last upstairs in Farranfore hall. Thank you to everyone who attended this meeting. Frances Murphy our chairperson and Hazel Norris our secretary have stepped down from their positions. We would like to thank Frances and Hazel for all their hard work and commitment to Firies Community Games. The in coming Committee for 2017-2018 are as follows: President Jerome Crowley, Chairperson PJ Walsh, Secretary Maura Culloty, Treasurer Noreen Brosnan, Assistant Treasurer Martina Hoctor, Children’s Officer Maura Culloty, PRO Carmel Sheahan, Committee Margaret Culloty, Julie Walsh & Helena O Sullivan. All events and activities will be advertised through the various publications once the season is up and running again. Thank you to everyone who attended this meeting and to everyone who have offered their help for the forthcoming year.
