SKIBBEREEN EVENT
Well done to all KRC rowers who participated in the Skibbereen Head of the River on Saturday last. The win of the day went to the Women’s Junior 16 double of Rhiannon O’Donoghue and Anna Tyther. Several athletes achieved high places with the Women’s Junior 14 double of Airida Mateviciute and Orla McCarthy finishing 2nd, the Women’s Club Quad of Eimear O’Donovan, Rhiannon O’Donoghue, Anna Tyther and Katie Boyle finished 2nd also. The Women’s Junior 14 quad of Airida Mateviciute, Orla McCarthy, Olivia Moriarty and Laoise Murphy were 4th, similarly to Eimear O’Donovan in the Women’s Club single. James McCarthy and Sean Houlihan finished 5th and 6th in the Men’s Club and Men’s Junior single sculls respectively, while Marcus Lavery finished in strong 8th place amongst the scullers.
Big well done to our young fleet of rowers on their first competitive outing of the 2017/18 rowing season.
Big thank you to McElligott’s of Tralee for looking after our transports needs and kitting us out with a new Kia Sorento for the day. Towing the boats was a pure pleasure!
MONTHLY RAFFLE

The next draw will be held at our next Management Committee meeting which is scheduled for the end of November. There is plenty of time left to sign up to be included in the October draw! It’s simple e-mail us with your intent to enter the draw (at killorglinrowingclub@gmail.com) and we will get a short form out to you once returned to your bank you are in! It is only €8 per month (€2 per week or €96 per year (can be paid in full by cheque also)) with €200 worth of prizes to be won every month. Three winners guaranteed each month, so don’t delay get aboard! Do something good for yourself and the Community as 100% of funds (excl. monthly prizes) go towards the Club!
NATIONAL TRIALS
Best of luck to our rowers Monika Dukarska, Sean Houlihan, Anna Tyther, Rhiannon O’Donoghue and James McCarthy next weekend at the National Trials. All the rowers will compete over 6km in the single sculls on Saturday and form crew boats on Sunday. This is the first stage of the international crew selection process for Rowing Ireland.
