Dub’s performance director in Tralee
DUBLIN GAA’s high performance manager Bryan Cullen is one of several high profile sports performance experts due to speak at a seminar in Tralee this week.
Cullen will be the main speaker at the ‘Building the Base’ forum on performance and participation that will take place at The Meadowland’s Hotel from 7.30pm this Thursday, November 30.
The event has been organised by the Kerry Recreation and Sports Partnership.
Other speakers at the forum will include Head of the School of Health and Human Performance at Dublin City University Dr Niall Moyna; former Kerry footballers John O’Keeffe and Mickey Ned O’Sullivan; Gillian Fitzgerald, PE Teacher at Coláiste na Sceilge, Cahersiveen; Córa Carrigg, coordinator with Kerry Recreation and Sports Partnership and Catherine Carthy, UNESCO Chair Manager at IT Tralee.
Chairperson of the Kerry Recreation and Sports Partnership, Jimmy Deenihan, will compere the forum.
Bryan Cullen will speak on the important role that strength and conditioning plays in the development of a long term player pathway from juvenile to senior level. Dr Moyna, meanwhile, will discuss how exercise is medicine and argue that any form of exercise is better than none.
