Scarlett simply red hot!

SCARLETT of Scott’s Street, Killarney’s newest ladies fashion store, capped off a wonderful first year in business by winning the inaugural Killarney Retailer of the Year award for 2017 – much to the delight of co-owners Karen Griffin and Katherine Poulain-Patterson.

The competition, run by the Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce, saw local retailers facing judgement through a ‘Mystery Shopper’ survey which was carried out by CREST.

At the awards ceremony held at the International Hotel, Killarney, last Thursday night, Michelle Cawley of CREST described the retail experience in Killarney as being of an extremely high standard, registering a score that was three per cent higher than the national average.

But for the winner, Scarlett, she reserved particular praise, complimenting the store on its overall customer service, variety of clothing, layout and merchandising.

“Scarlett has enjoyed an amazing first year in business and has been extremely well received by both locals and tourists alike,” Karen Griffin told The Kerryman.

“We were honoured to have won this prize because the standard in Killarney is so high, as Michelle Cawley said. I suppose we weren’t expecting to win it because we only opened in August 2016, so we’re delighted as a new shop to have been recognised by the chamber.”
