Kerry’s movers and shakers gather in Listowel
DESCRIBED as a ‘richly rewarding event’, the Kerry’s Movers and Shakers gathering at The Butler Centre in Listowel provided an interesting platform for discussion on the success and strategies for women in business. The forum hosted a packed audience with a line-up of inspirational women speakers offering local and international perspectives.
Held in association with the Kerry Business Women’s Network and Kerry Local Enterprise Office, speakers included The Butler Centre CEO Antoinette Butler; Margaret Reidy, a relative of the late Jennifer Musa ‘The Irish Queen of Balochistan’, and also Cora Creed, Vice President of Digital Supply Chain Management at Universal Music Group, New York.
Mary Geary and Liz Maher of the Kerry Business Women’s Network spoke about the importance of women in business and the inspirational ways in which women continue to prosper.
Antoinette Butler also spoke of her success and the ongoing progression of The Butler Language Academy and Irish Host Family Ltd which has only recently established a footing in Listowel.
“It was a very positive event that covered a wide range of issues from local to international business. All the speakers offered great insight on how business and women have succeeded in recent years,” said Antoinette.
Tickets were in high demand for the event and were sold-out prior to the day which suggests events of a similar nature may take place in the future. Antoinette insists the event also managed to generate huge positivity and illustrated the support there is in Kerry for business offering an in-depth insight into different success stories.
“The event showed the vibrant way in which the Kerry Business Women’s Network works, interacts and supports the forum for women in established and start-up businesses. Networking in any line of work is vital as you are always going to need help and advice along the way. This event was very much a part of this overall strategy,” she added.
