Full house at The Charthouse for Hospice fundraising dinner

-

THE best of food was enjoyed for the best of causes when The Charthouse restaurant in Dingle hosted a fundraising dinner for Annascaul/Inch Hospice Fundraising Committee last Wednesday.

The idea of organising a Hospice Fundraising dinner at The Chart House was put in motion at a Hospice Coffee Morning in the Annascaul Community Centre on September last. The idea proved a runaway success and the limited number of 57 tickets were sold out in a matter of days.

Jim McCarthy, owner ofthe ChartHouse restaurant, was full of praise for all those who supported the event, with over €5,000 sold in raffle tickets on the night while Dingle Gin provided the welcoming reception and all the wine and food were sponsored.

“Teamwork is central to the work of The Charthouse and all the staff fell in and provided their services free of charge on the night,” he added.

Kennedy’s Coaches provided the transport to and from Dingle on the night. The evening raised over €11,000 and since the evening Jim has received extra donations of prizes and has produced 200 tickets which will be sold hopefully raising another €2,000 for the Hospice.

“Everyone was so helpful “said Jim. “It’s great to be in a position to do this. Everyone is affected by cancer in some way and thanks to the amount of support we had for the event every penny from the night went to the Kerry Hospice.”
