Castleisland see off Listowel in Under 16 conference
CASTLEISLAND were much too strong for a spirited Listowel outfit at the Crageens last Saturday.
A try from Tadgh O’Shea which was converted by David Dillon, and two penalties from Dillon saw Castleisland take a 13-0 lead into the half time break. Listowel did have their chances in that half with Kian Dowling being particularly unlucky to be tackled into touch close to the Castleisland line after an excellent break.
Castleisland added three further tries in the second half from Conor Kevin, Danny Costello and an excellent effort from Tadgh O’Shea, who chipped and ran after a superb crossfield kick by Mark Hickey.
In fairness to Listowel they were short a number of players through injury but had excellent performances from Cormac O’Sullivan and Joseph Murphy on the wings while Emil Beauseigneur was their best player throughout. For Castleisland, Jason Brosnan gave a man of the match performance.
Abbeyfeale 41 Killorglin 19
ABBEYFEALE did all the damage in the first half of this game when they took a 19-0 lead while playing with the aid of the hill.
Killorglin did score a try from Callum Moriarty before the half time break which Shogie O’Sullivan converted. Killorglin added further tries from Conal Whelan and Adam Clarke in the second half, but with Abbeyfeale adding four more tries of their own, it wasn’t enough and the Limerick side emerged as 22 point victors.
