Celtic fancied to do the business

FAI JUNIOR CUP FIFTH ROUND

-

Sunday December 3 Celtic Park 2pm

KILLARNEY Celtic will be hoping to try and progress to the last 32 of the FAI Junior Cup when they take on Castlebar Celtic at Celtic Park on Sunday.

It will be a fairly formidable task against a good Mayo side who are used to winning big games. Of course, Killarney Celtic don’t lose many games either so it should be a tight game between two evenly matched sides.

Celtic’s path so far in the competition has been rather easy winning all three games very comfortably. In the opening round they demolished Clare side Rinanna Rovers 11-0.

They met another Clare team Moher Celtic in the third round and won 4-0. They were off to the Banner County again in the fifth round where they defeated Newmarket Celtic 4-1.

At this stage of the competition there is no easy draw but Celtic will be glad to have a home tie. The opposition have strong credentials coming third in the Mayo Premier League last season and they are going very well again this season. However, Killarney Celtic are unbeaten in all competitions this season so far and will be going into the game with a lot of confidence.

They have been playing very well since the start of the new season under new manager Eoghan Donnellan and the signing of Danny Roche from Tralee Dynamos has given the side an added attacking bonus.

They know they face an big task against this Mayo side, but with home advantage they will be expecting a big performance because it will require it if they hope to win this game.

Celtic have two injury worries ahead of the big game as Gary Keane picked up a foot injury in the Oscar Traynor Cup game on Sunday while Jamie Spillane missed that game with an injury so now all concerned will be keeping their fingers crossed that they will be fit for the big game on Sunday.

All things considered Celtic should be able to win this game.
