1. TRALEE CINEMA BRINGS BACK SOME CLASSICS

TRALEE Omniplex are gearing up to show classic films such as ‘Die Hard’, ‘Gremlins’ and ‘Goodfellas’ in its next batch of ‘Bring It Back Films’ for December.

Home Alone will screen on December 18 with Goodfellas rounding off the month on December 27; all details on Tralee Omniplex Facebook page.

2. DAVID O’DOHERTY SET FOR SIAMSA

ARMED with his trusty keyboard, Irish comedian David O’Doherty is making his return to Siamsa Tíre next month.

Returning from a tour of America, David will bring an evening of his latest jokes and songs to Tralee when he performs on the night of Friday, December 1 at 8pm.

Tickets are set to cost between €16 and €18 and are available to buy from Siamsa now.

3. BASKETBALL EVENT IN AID OF CHARITY

A LOCAL basketball club here in Tralee will take part in special Christmas fundraiser next week, all in aid of the Kerry Hospice Foundation.

Taking place on Saturday December 9 from 9am to 9pm, Tralee Imperials will host a Christmas Basketball Marathon on the day; there will be plenty of games and music along with a bake sale, which will run from 10am to 12pm.

4. MOUNTHAWK STUDENTS PREP FOR FASHION SHOW

MOUNTHAWK TY students take to the catwalk tonight, Wednesday November 29, for their fundraisin­g fashion show.

With this years theme centering around ‘The Wonder of Winter’, there will be two shows taking place today - one at 2pm and the other at 8pm; Maria Walsh will be the judge of the fashion on the night.

Tickets for the 2pm show will cost €5 and tickets for the 8pm show will cost €10.

5. CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR IN KILLARNEY

OVER 50 different stalls, full to the brim with locally produced products will set themselves up at Killarney Community College this coming Sunday December 3, as the Christmas Craft Fair comes to town.

The craft fair will run from 11am to 5pm and promises to be a great day out - who knows what presents you might find?

6. FUNDRAISIN­G FOR THE HOMELESS IN BALLYBUNIO­N

‘HOPE for Homeless’ will be having a special fundraisin­g event at Namir’s Restaurant on Main St in Ballybunio­n on the night of Friday, December 1 at 6:30pm.

This event promises to be a great evening of entertainm­ent, with singing, poetry, guest speakers and a raffle taking place over the course of the evening. Any queries about the event can be directed to Ciaran Daly on 0851724196

7. SANTA COMING EARLY TO ANNASCAUL

SANTA Claus will be making an early trip to the boys and girls of Annascaul, this coming Saturday December 2.

Running from 11am to 6pm, the Cottage Market will host Santa’s Grotto, a free Christmas raffle, stalls, mulled wine and mince pies; don’t miss out on this great day for all the family.

8. STEPHANIE RAINEY SET FOR LISTOWEL

THE big names just keep on coming for Aidan O’Connor and the team at ‘Mike The Pies’ bar in Listowel, with Stephanie Rainey the latest big name set to play the venue.

Stephanie will play the Listowel venue on the night of Thursday December 14 with tickets set to cost €10 and are available to buy from the Mike The Pies website.

9. GET DANCING IN AID OF CHARITY

THE Chernobyl Children’s Fund inTralee will host their weekly social night dances in the Grand Hotel in Tralee this month.

The dances start at 9pm every Wednesday night with the dances set to cost €8. The lineup for the months of November and December are as follows: Noreen Ashe (November 29), Declan Aungier (December 6), Peter Burke (December 13) and Best of Friends (December 20).

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are four parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel and the Tralee Junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old. People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.
