‘THE CASTLE OF THE ISLAND’ DOCUMENTARY: AN UPDATE

-

TÚS Maith Leath na hOibre is a wonderful, old phrase that translates close enough to: A good start is half the work. The filming of the Castle of the Island documentary represents a good half of that particular project. And, things are looking great for a midspringtime premiere of the work in Castleisland.

An update from Rob McGuire includes news that filming has been completed on his documentary project, The Castle of the Island. After a post production and editing process, the project will reveal the lost history of the local Desmond or Norman Castle.

“As founder of The Castle of the Island Society as well as researcher and producer of the documentary it has been a rewarding experience in bringing this forgotten story back to life,” said Rob.

“I will continue to work in collaboration with Red Viper Films in completing post production works. We hope to acquire further financial support in the coming weeks in order to complete all of the necessary tasks on time.

“Once all of the work is complete, we will hold a premiere of the documentary in the River Island Hotel in Castleisland in March 2018. The trailer is now available to view on our Facebook page The Castle of the Island,” he concluded.
