Draw with Ballybunio­n sees Ballymac Celtic unbeaten in five

DENNY DIVISION 2A Ballybunio­n 1 Ballymac Celtic 1

BALLYMAC Celtic extended their unbeaten run to five games after sharing the spoils with Ballybunio­n on Sunday. The game was switched from Ballybunio­n to Mounthawk Park and after a keely contested first half the sides went in scoreless at half time.

Ballymac moved up a gear in the second half and began to ask serious questions of the Ballybunio­n rearguard. Their big moment came in the 50th minute when Dwyer Tobin turned his marker just outside the box and fired his shot to the net in emphatic fashion.

Ballymac had a couple of chances to extend their lead but nothing transpired and entering the concluding stages they looked set for victory.

However there was a sting in the tail late on when Ballybunio­n were awarded a controvers­ial penalty in the 88 minute. Under tremendous pressure Jamie Culloty finshed to the net with a superb shot. Ballymac got a late chance to win the game from a free kick but they failed to hit the target.

Killorglin B 3 Clanmauric­e 1

CLANMAURIC­E went ahead in this game with a Cathal Kearney goal and led 1-0 at half time. However Killorglin came back strongly in the second half and they equalised when Mikey O’Sullivan got on to a Stuart Delaney free kick and tucked his shot away neatly.

Killorglin made a couple of changes bringing on Paul Browne, Dillon Joy,Pa Knightly and Jerome Houlihan.and it was the wirey Pa Knightly who slipped through the Clanmauric­e defence rounding the keeper as well to tap into an empty net to give Killorglin the lead in the 66th minute.

Four minutes later Mikey O’Sullivan put the game to bed with his second and Killorglin’s third.

DENNY DIVISION 2B Spa Road 1 CSCB 2

THE top of the table clash of the joint leaders was an exciting affair with CSCB dislodging Spa Road from the top of the table with a great win which moves them three points clear. Gene Murphy and Timothy Moriarty scored for the West Kerry side.

Sneem Santos 0 Mainebank 1

MAINEBANK took advantage of Spa Road’s defeat with a great win over Sneem Santos which takes them joint second in the table three points behind table toppers CSCB.

The goal that won the game was scored by Conor O’Dowd.
