When they made it 3-0 early in the second half they seemed to be heading for a comfortabl­e win but Athletic fought back with a brace of goals but it was too little too late and Ballyhar ran out deserving winners.

Harry Doody (2) and Kevin Murphy scored for the winners and their best players on the day were Max Walsh, Patrick O’Connor, Jordan O’Connor, Cian McCarthy, Jack Duggan and Trevor O’Shea.
