LEADERS Iveragh United’s game against the Park fell foul of the weather.

This allowed Killarney Celtic to move to the joint top of the table as they defeated Killorglin 3-0. Eoghan Crowley gave the Killarney side a 1-0 first half lead. He scored again early in the second half and Dara O’Shea wrapped up the win. Celtic are one point ahead of the South Kerry boys, but Iveragh now have two games in hand.

Their neighbours Killarney Athletic are also on 8 points after the came from behind to defeat Mastergeeha in a cracking seven goal thriller. Athletic are also on the same number of games as Celtic.

Mastergeeha led 3-1 with ten minutes left at Kilbrean Park thanks to goals from Sean Doolan, Alan O’Leary and Eoin Kelly. Alex Hennigan had replied for Athletic.

However the Woodlawn boys staged a great comeback with Hennigan getting his second and then goals from James Healy and Donnacha Coffey gave the Blues this important win.

Listowel Celtic’s goals came from a Cormac Dillon hat trick and one each from Robert Heffernan and Sean O’Mahony.

Division 2

WITH leaders Fenit game off due to the weather Killorglin’s 4-1 win sees them move level at the top of the table.

They defeated MEK 4-1 despite going behind to a Sam Buckley goal. Killorglin fought back and goals from Thomas O’Donnell, Jack McGrath and two from Bryan Coffey gave them all three points.

Killarney Athletic got themselves three important points following a 2-1 away win at Mastergeeha. Eric Moriarty and Ryan Neeson scored for Athletic in a good all round performance.

Mastergeeha’s goal came from Kieran Nagle and only for a number of great saves by Athletic keeper Aaron O’Connor the opposition could have snatched a point.
