U18 Boys Div1. Gneeveguil­la 79, St Brendan’s 69. (Played 07/01/2018) This was a close contest of exceptiona­l skill levels and high scoring.

St Brendan’s led 40-38 at the half and 57-52 after 3 qtrs. They were led by Rap Buditudas (18 pts), Padraig Fleming (17 pts), and Stephen Bowler (12 pts). Gneeveguil­la had a strong final qtr, scoring 27 pts and they won the game by 10 pts. They were led by Ronan Collins (34 pts), Sean Clifford (14 pts), and Lorcan Keane (13 pts).

U18 Boys Div2. Gneeveguil­la 50, Rathmore 45. (Played 07/01/2018) Gneeveguil­la stormed out to a big lead early and led 27-9 at the half. They were led by Evan Cronin (20 pts) and Danny O’Callaghan (15 pts). Rathmore rallied well in the 2nd half, led by Dan Murphy (14 pts) and Darragh Rahilly (17 pts), but just came up short, losing by just 5 pts.

U16 boys Cup. St Mary’s 50, Gneeveguil­la 55. (Played 11/01/2018) This was a well-contested cup tie at the Castleisla­nd Community Centre, and the result was in doubt to the last minute. The home team, led by Daniel Kelly (17 pts) and PJ Curtin (16 pts) kept it close, but the visitors sealed the game with late scores from Alex Mikailos. Best for Gneeveguil­la were Ronan Collins (22 pts) and Paudie Murphy (10 pts).

Presentati­on of Cheques from the Bridge Bar new years Day walk in Memory of Denis( Gary) O ‘Leary will take place at Bridge bar on Saturday 27th January at 8pm.proceeds to lrish Heart Foundation & Rathmore Social Action and also maintenanc­e & Training for the Defibrilla­tors in the Rathmore area. ATHLETIC CLUB NOTES

Munster masters Indoors: Catherine O’ Sullivan 1st in LJ & 2nd in 60m, Shelia O’ Donohgue 1st shot O50, Eileen O Riordan 2nd shot O45 & 3rd in 60m, Brid Stack 1st 200m O45, Siobhan Daly 2nd in 800m, 1st in 1500m, Robert Purcell 2nd in 3000m & 2nd in 800m O45.

Mountain Running; Held at Corran mountain in Fermoy Danielle O’ Riordan won the juvenile, Kate & Heather Culloty were well placed.

Kerry Colleges Cross Country: will be held on Demense next Thursday at 11.00 am. Best of luck to all who will be taking part.
