THE price of the average threebed semi-detached house in county Kerry rose by over three per cent to €210,000 in the last 12 months, according to a national survey carried out by Real Estate Alliance.
And after prices increased by 1.2 percent between September and December 2017, local agents are predicting that property values will rise by 9 percent in the county in the coming year.
REA Coyne and Culloty in Killarney predict that prices will be driven by new developments coming on stream, and have reported increased demand for one and two bedroom apartments in the town.
The price of an average three-bed semi in Killarney is €270,000, a rise of 1.9 percent in Q4, while REA North’s in Tralee report average prices in the town remained static at €150,000 in the final three months of 2017.
The REA Average House Price Survey concentrates on the actual sale price of Ireland’s typical stock home, the threebed semi, giving an up-to-date picture of the property market countrywide. THE most exciting addition to our Netflix screens this week comes in the form of legendary chat show host David Letterman, who returns to television with his new show ‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction’.
The format is pretty simple – the chat show host teams up with a number of global figures for a series of in-depth interviews and curiousity fueled excursions, with new episodes set to be released at the unusual pace of just one-a-month.
Former US President Barack Obama is the first guest on Letterman’s hot-seat and their 56-minute long chat – covers everything from Barack’s first day out of office, the uses of social media and of course dad dancing.
‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction’ is streaming now on Netflix.
With the National Football League (NFL) season coming to a head over the next few weeks, it only seems right that our next film recommendation goes along the same lines.
‘Concussion’ is a 2015 film starring Will Smith as Dr. Bennet Omalu, a forensic pathologist who fights against the NFL who try to suppress his research on chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a brain degeneration disease suffered by professional football players.
A good insight into a problem still very much at the forefront of the footballing world, Will Smith is terrific in the role while co-stars Alec Baldwin and Albert Brooks lead the way in an excellent supporting cast.
Be warned though, this is not a film for the faint-hearted or the squeamish.
