1. KENMARE’S CHARITY TRACTOR RUN

KENMARE Macra na Feirme will hold a charity tractor run in aid of the Kerry Parents and friends associatio­n on Sunday January 21.

Sign in on the morning is from 11am to 11:45am in Kenmare Mart, the tractors will leave the yard at 12noon; registrati­on is set to cost just €20 with all money raised going straight towards the charity.

2. MOUNTHAWK SET TO PERFORM AT SIAMSA

THE students of Mercy Mounthawk Secondary School in Tralee are delighted to present their very own atage adaptation of the popular musical ‘My Fair Lady’.

They will be performing the show from January 240 January 27 in the famed Siamsa Tíre theatre at 8pm each night; tickets will cost between €14 and €16 and are available to buy from Siamsa.

3. MALL OPENING CELEBRATIO­NS

A STREET party is being held on Saturday January 20 to help celebrate the completion of the refurbishm­ent works on The Mall street in Tralee.

‘Mingle on the Mall’, running from 2pm to 5pm on the day, is aimed at showcasing the brand new Tralee Town Centre; there will be a number of free, family-oriented events with entertainm­emt for all ages.

Here’s hoping that the weather gets the memo!

4. MOUNTHAWKS FAMILY FUN WALK

THERE will be a family fun walk held along the Canal in Tralee on the evening of Friday, January 19.

Starting at 7pm, walkers are inviited to come out on the day and get active.

The event is being organised as part of a group project for Transition Year students ‘Family First’ as part of the young social innovators project.

5. DRAMA IN CASTLEGREG­ORY

THE Castlegreg­ory Amateur Dramatic Society are this week getting ready to present their latest show to the public.

‘Captain Hook Fights Back’ is the groups latest theatre offering and it will be showing in the Castlegreg­ory Community Centre/West End Hall on the nights of Thursday, January 18, Friday, January 19 and Saturday January 20 (8pm showing) ad there will also be a 3pm showing on Sunday January 21.

Tickets are available at the informatio­n office (066 7139422) with adults set to cost €10 and children €5.

6. BALLYMAC’S NIGHT OF DANCING

TICKETS are now on sale for Ballymac’s upcoming ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ night which takes place in the Ballygarry House Hotel on February 3.

Tickets are available to buy from Horans Fruit and Veg up at the Horan Centre, the Half-Way Bar, Glenduff Manor and O’Riada’s Bar; for more informatio­n, you can check out the ‘Ballymacel­ligott GAA Strictly Love Dancing’ Facebook page.

7. DARA Ó’BRIAIN TAKES TO THE STAGE IN INEC

DARA O’Briain, one of the most popular Irish comedians of all time, brings his new stand up comedy show ‘Voice of Reason’ to the INEC in Killarney on Friday, January 26.

Tickets for this show are set to cost just €30 and are available to buy from the INEC box office or at the INEC website at www.inec.ie; doors open on the night at 7pm, with the show itself starting at 8pm.

8. BRENDAN GRACE TO PERFORM IN INEC

BRENDAN Grace is bringing his comedic talents to the INEC in KIllarney next week, when he performs in the famous venue on Saturday, January 20.

Tickets for this show are on sale from the INEC box office and website for the mere cost of €33.20; doors open at 7pm, with the show itself starting at 8pm.

9. TAKE PART IN JANUARY 5K A DAY CHALLENGE

THE people of Kerry are being challenged to take part in a 5km a day walk/cycle/swim every day for the month of January, all in aid of three worthy charities - the ‘Donal Walsh #LiveLife’ Foundation, Kerry Cancer Support Group, and the ‘Make A Wish’ Foundation.

The challenge aims to promote an active lifestyle and positive mental health - donations can be made to the 2018 GoFundMe page at https://www.gofundme. com/5kaday2018.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are four parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel and the Tralee Junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old. People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.
