A win, a loss and a draw for Kearns’ Tipperary

-

TRALEE native Liam Kearns has completed the trifecta of a win and loss and a draw with the Tipperary footballers in their three Division 2 NFL games so far, which leaves the Premier county in fifth position in an extremely tightly-packed division.

Kearns’ team got the perfect start to their campaign with a totally deserved win over Cork in Pairc Ui Chaoimh, which reinforced their reputation as a real coming force in Munster football. However, they received a set-back the following weekend in Round 2 when they coughed up a six-point lead late in the second half to allow Roscommon stage a remarkable comeback and steal the two points in Semple Stadium.

Last Sunday Tipperary had to be content with a share of the points after an 0-11 apiece draw with Clare in Cusack Park, Ennis.

Tipperary’s three points puts them level with Meath, Cavan and Roscommon – a point behind leaders Cork and Down – but Meath and Cavan still have to play their round 3 match.
