1. TAKE PART IN A CHARITY TRALEE 10 MILE RUN

MICHELLE Greaney of Optimal Fitness has organised a fundraisin­g 10 mile and 5k road race for Sunday February 18, with all funds raised from the event going towards the Kerry/Cork Health Link Bus.

The run will leave from 10am from the Rose Hotel on the morning; online registrati­on is still currently open and is set to cost just €30 for the 10 Mile run and just €10 for the 5k run - registrati­on details can be found on the ‘Optimal Fitness Tralee’ page on Facebook.

2. BALLYLONGF­ORD COFFEE MORNING

A COFFEE morning in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation will be held in the Parish Hall in Ballylongf­ord from 10am to 12noon on Friday, February 16.

A bingo fundraiser will also be held in the same venue at 7pm on the Saturday, February 17 after the 7 o’clock mass; all are welcome to attend both events.

3. FUNDRAISIN­G DISCO IN ARDFERT FOR HOSPITAL

THERE is a great night in store for the people of Ardfert this coming Saturday, February 17, as Caroline McAuliffe gets set to host a fundraisin­g disco in aid of the South Infirmary Hospital in Cork.

The Abbey Tavern in the village is the venue of what will be an 80’s/90’s disco night; there will be great prizes on offer and raffle prizes will also be available during the event.

4. KILLORGLIN DANCE TO HELP FIGHT CANCER

THERE will be a fundraisin­g dance held in the Manor Inn in Killorglin on the night of Saturday, February 17.

All funds raised on the night will go towards helping little Siobhán Mathers fight Neuroblast­oma; the singing jarvey, Ger Healy, will be performing on the night.

Tickets are set to cost just €5 on the door - everyone is welcome to attend on the night.

5. FASHION SHOW IN AID OF HEALTH LINK BUS

THE ‘Scamps and Scholars’ childcare centre in Killorglin will hold their annual fundraisin­g pre-loved fashion event in aid of the Kerry/ Cork Health Link Bus on Friday, February 16 from 5pm to 9pm.

The event will run again on the Saturday, February 17 from 11am to 4pm and again on Sunday Fenruary 18 from 11am to 3pm; all donations for this event can be dropped into the centre prior to the event.

6. COFFEE MORNING IN AID OF HEALTH LINK BUS

A COFFEE morning in aid of the ‘Adapt Kerry Women’s Refuge’ will be held in the Ballyroe Heights Hotel today (Wednesday, February 14).

The charity morning will run from 10:30am to 12noon and all are welcome to attend on the day.

7. FOIL, ARMS & HOG TO PLAY IN SIAMSA TÍRE

THERE are a very limited number of tickets available to buy for the brand new upcoming ‘Foil, Arms & Hog’ show in Siamsa Tíre.

The comedy trio, who have amassed close to 50 million YouTube hits with their weekly sketches, are bringing their brand new live show entitled ‘Oink’ to Tralee on February 15.

The show will consist of all new sketches, never-before seem on the groups YouTube channel.

Tickets for the show are set to cost between €22 and €25 and are available from Siamsa Tíre.

8. MARLENE ENRIGHT TO PLAY IN ‘MIKE THE PIES’

RTE Choice Music Prize nominated musician, Marlene Enright, will play in the ‘Mike the Pies’ venue in Listowel on Thursday, February 15.

The talented musician will perform a double bill on the night as she performs alongside Anna Mitchell; tickets still available on the door on the night - this is one not to be missed.

9. SPEED DATING IN THE K-TOWN BAR IN KILLARNEY

FEBRUARY is here and love is most certainly in the air this month, with bars such as the K-Town bar in Killarney gearing up to help you find your match.

The bar will hold a speed-dating night on Friday February 16, with all people from the ages of 20 to 30 welcome on the night; the event will cost just €8 and will start at 8pm sharp.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are four parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel and the Tralee Junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old. People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.
