CORN AN RUNAÍ MUNSTER SENIOR B FINAL Pobalscoil Inbhear Sceine 3-14 Mitchelsto­wn CBS 1-10

INBHEAR Sceine, Kenmare were far too good for Mitchelsto­wn CBS in the Munswter Senior B FC final at Ballyvourn­ey on Saturday.

CBS, who were short key players Mark Keane and James Keating, struggled from the offset. Kenmare were dominant in key sectors all through. They used the short passing at speed out of defence and their passing was top class.

Good play by Colin Crowley led to the opening score a point by imnressive Tadhg Ó Siochrú. A minute later O’Siochru was provider for Donal O’Sullivan to goal after Tony Watson had saved well but the force of the ball just went over the goal line.

O’Sullivan soloed through for another point. In the 10th minute CBS opened their account when Rian Hennessy put Christy English through for a point. Cathal O’Mahony followed with a point for CBS.

The Kerry side, aided by the stiff breeze, had their second goal when Cormac O’Sullivan put Donal O’Sullivan through. CBS battled back with Christy English and Rian Hennessy working well for English to take the return pass and point.

In the 20th minute Cian O’Connor, Griffin Lynch-Wharton and Donal O’Sullivan worked well for Tadhg Ó Siochrú who made it 2-3 to 0-3. Dylan O’Connor added a point for the winners with CBS’s Aaron O’Brien working well Rian Hennessy who pointed. Dylan O’Connor and Cathal O’Mahony free) swapped a point as the winners added late points that had them well ahead at the break 2-9 to 0-5.

From the throw in on the restart Donal O’Sullivan won possession and soloed through for a point. The same player followed with a pointed free. A foul on Tadhg Ó Siochrú produced a penalty that Dylan O’Connor converted 3-11 to 0-5.

CBS rallied well. Good play by Danny Keane and Rian Hennessy led to a Killian Dollion point. Christy English with a point made it 3-11 to 0-7. Cathal O’Mahony was denied a goal chance by Kenamre keeper Dylan Van Daele.

Entering the final quarter Griffin Lynch-Wharton kicked a long range point. Cathal O’Mahony replied for CBS. Donal O’Sullivan (free) and Cathal Harrington exchanged a point before Dylan Connolly had a 53rd minute CBS goal 3-13 to 1-9.

Christy English pointed a CBS free with Tom Murnae putting Tadhg O’Siochru in for an injury time point. The final whsitle followed and Kenmare were crowned champions for the first time ever.
