Deepest sympathies to loved ones of Joan and Bridget

-

ON Sunday February 25 the death occurred of Joan McCarthy of Laharn South, Cahersiveen. Sincere condolences to her husband Francie; daughters Mary, Josephine, Frances, Eileen, Patricia, Phil, Breda and Alice; sons-in-law; sisters Anne, Rosaline, Sheila and Terry; grandchildren; nieces; nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Solás sioraí dí.

Condolences also to Bridget Cremin who recently passed away in the Valentia Community Hospital at the age of 98. She was from Ballinskelligs East and was one of the last of the true native Irish speakers of that area. In tribute to this trait, Mike Kelly from Cill Rialaig sang the song Buachaill Ó Éireann in a beautiful and poignant style.

Sincere condolences are offered to her son John and his wife Eileen; grandson Shaun; grand-daughter Sarah; great-grandchildren Hannah, Katie, Ruby and Lucey; and all concerned. Solas na bhFlaitheas dí. The late Bridget Cremin’s son John, wife Eileen and family are fulsome in their praise of the care which she received in the Valentia Hospital. They would like to sincerely thank the management, Matron Margaret Daly and all the associated staff as well as Dr Brian O’Donovan for, as they say themselves, ‘the wonderful and unbelievable care’ she received there since she entered the hospital in December 2009.
