Lip sync goes for it on Friday night

-

EXCITEMENT levels were steadily rising in anticipation of the biggest show in town and then it snowed.

“It’s just a few days away from the second running of the Lip Sync Battles 2018 event which is now taking place on this Friday night , March 9th at Castleisland Community Centre,” said Castleisland AFC spokesman, Neil O’Sullivan reminds us.

Doors will open at 7pm and the show will get underway at 8pm.

The way bread was being spoken of here and almost everywhere else over the days of pure whiteness, you would have believed it if you were told that Friday night’s winners would get a Pan Loaf apiece – and that they’d be delighted with it.

However, eaten bread is soon forgotten and there will probably be glittering trophies and bragging rights and prestige for the next twelve months for the category winners.

Event tickets were going really well at: Tom McCarthy’s Central Bar; Aileen Lynch’s Pharmacy; Sno White Cleaners and The Shoemaker’s Bar - up to the bread shortage.

“Last year’s event was a fantastic success with 11 acts battling it out to be crowned Lip Sync champions in front of a crowd of over 1000 people.

“This year 12 acts have signed up to battle it out to become Castleisland’s number one Lip Sync act and with the production company Lip Sync Battles Ireland and choreographer Cassie Leane booked again we are in for a repeat or maybe even better night than last year,” said Neil.

Promotional videos of the contestants have all been revealed by now. The sneak preview does, however, carry an advisory note that the performances therein may not be the one you’ll see on the night – they’ll be better.
