BEAUFORT LENTEN TALK

Killorglin Area Pastoral Council will host a Lenten Talk entitled " Spirituali­ty for today looking after body, mind and soul" in the CYMS, Killorglin on Thursday 8th March at 8.00pm. The speaker is renowned Performanc­e Consultant and motivation­al coach Gerry Hussey. Gerry has coached elite athletes for Olympic Games, World Championsh­ips and Heineken Cups. Admission is free and all are welcome to what promises to be a very interestin­g and stimulatin­g evening.

CAHERCIVEE­N ST PATRICK’S DAY:

€1,000 prize for the best float. Parade at 3.30pm. Get your entries in to ACARD as soon as possible.

FAIR DEAL SCHEME:

A talk on the Fair Deal Scheme and how it works will be held in the O’Connell Centre, Cahircivee­n on Wednesday, March 7 at 7.30pm. Speaker: Maria O’Connor HSE. All are welcome.

VIGIL OF RECONCILIA­TION AND ADORATION:

Pope Francis invites all the dioceses throughout the world to hold a 24 hour vigil of Reconcilia­tion and Eucharisti­c Adoration during Lent. Cahersivee­n Parish will hold it this year on Friday 9th March at 7.30pm to Saturday 10th March at 7.30pm. It will take place in the Nuns Chapel in the O’Connell Memorial Church. All are welcome.

AGHATUBRID NATIONAL SCHOOL:

CROMANE SNOW

Cromane was so picturesqu­e with the recent snowfall. Travel was not possible so people had to stay indoors. Thankfully no serious incidents reported.

With the lambing season upon us, please ensure your dog is kept in and not allowed to roam about. When dogs meet up, even the quietest dog can put sheep in fear just by their presence with another dog.

STORM EMMA

The parish of Killeentie­rna, Currow/Currans came through the snow fall and high winds very well with very little damage if any. All that is left the bodies of the snowmen in the lawns. Met Eireann kept the people well informed and the local authority workers with the gritting of roads. Thanks to all who helped.
