COUNTY LEAGUE: The Cromane seniors begin their 2018 County League Division 4 campaign with a game away to Renard this weekend.

At the time of going to print this game was scheduled for Sunday, March 11, with a 12.30pm throw-in time. However, due to the Kerry-Dublin game being played on Sunday in Croke Park this fixture may yet change to the Saturday evening. Check club social media outlets later in the week for confirmation of any change.

Our seniors gained promotion from Division 5 last year so will be determined to make an impact in Division 4 this year. The management team of Gavin O’Connor (trainer) and selectors David Moroney and Stephen Casey remains in place and have had the Munster Junior B championship to plan with at the start of this year. Our lads now need to refocus on the county league, we have also played two Mid Kerry League games this year: winning one and losing one. Best of luck this weekend lads. POSTPONEMENTS: The Mid Kerry League round three game against Laune Rangers that was due to be played last Sunday in Cromane was postponed due to the poor weather conditions. Likewise, the first Minor County League game of the year where Glenbeigh-Glencar/ Cromane (GGC) were due to travel to Ballymac was also called off. Our Mini Maroons camp due to be held in Glenbeigh GAA Hall last Sunday was also postponed.

Stay tuned for news of re-fixtures and rescheduled GAA camps. CROMANE LIGHTS UP: The sixth, and final, ‘Ireland Lights Up’ event was held at Cromane GAA Club in association with RTÉ’s Operation Transformation last Monday week.

We, along with hundreds of other GAA clubs across the country, got on board with the RTE show and opened up our GAA pitch, turned on the lights and let people walk for two hours in safety. Well done to everyone who took part over the past six weeks.

MID KERRY U21 FINAL: The final of this year’s Mid Kerry Under-21 championship between Glenbeigh-Glencar/Cromane (GGC) and Milltown-Castlemaine has been refixed for Beaufort on St Patrick’s Day, Saturday, March 17, with a 1.15pm throw-in.

The GGC lads qualified for the final with a 0-12 to 1-5 win over Beaufort back in early February while Milltown-Castlemaine accounted for Laune Rangers in the other last four game.

Best of luck to the GGC team on St Patrick’s Day.
