Barry Keoghan for Oskars night of glamour

- By TADHG EVANS

THE Kilcummin/Glenflesk ‘Oskars night’ will see a Hollywood star gracing the INEC as both sides look to raise funds for their respective clubs by way of their efforts at film.

The night’s audience was already looking forward to seven short films starring more than 80 actors with their own take on such well-known productions as Forrest Gump, Sister Act, and Father Ted, but now the March 29 event can expect to see ‘Dunkirk’ and ‘Love/Hate’ star Barry Keoghan, who will be present for judging duties on the night.

He will be joined by Kerry Film Festival’s Maeve McGrath, and Kerry’s own actor extraordinaire, Donal Courtney, while a further celebrity touch will be added by former Kerry star Aidan O’Mahony and his wife, Denise; they will combine to choose the night’s best dressed attendees.

“We’re so pleased and honoured to have secured three judges who are all major forces in the world of acting and film,” said organising committee member Niamh Dwyer

“The bar has really been raised now and the level of commitment from all of the actors so far has been phenomenal. We can feel the excitement building. There’s no doubt but this will be a night to remember.”

Tickets are set at €25 and are available from the INEC Box Office; Kilcummin Post Office; O’Brien’s, Glenflesk; Who’s for Shoes; and Variety Sounds.
