Q-Mharc success for West Kerry

-

WEST Kerry took pride of place in the Q-Mharc Gnó le Gaeilge awards which were presented in Croke Park last week.

Comhar Chreidmheasa Chorca Dhuibhne and MacDomhnaill Dental Practice in Tralee, run by Dun Chaoin’s Marcas Mac Domhnaill, were two of the seven recipients presented with the award in recognition of their bilingual excellence in business.

The Q-Mharc is a voluntary code of practice, initiated by Foras na Gaeilge and developed with industry bodies and statutory agencies. It is the first official award scheme to recognise bilingualism in business worldwide.

Credit Union Manager Micheál Ó Cinnéide said they were honoured to receive the award as recognition of their commitment to providing a bilingual service. “Is mór an onóir dúinn ar fad sa Chomhar Creidmheasa go bhfuil an t-aitheantas seo fachta againn agus léiríonn an gradam seo go bhfuil sé tábhachtach dúinne freastal ar an bpobal agus ár gcuid seirbhísí a chur ar fáil go dátheangach,” a dúirt sé.

Marcas Mac Domhnaill said that they were honoured to be one of seven businesses to have received the award. “Támid ag súil go mór lenár seirbhísí ar fad a sholáthar dár nothair i nGaolainn agus i mBéarla. Beatha theanga í a labhairt!” dúirt Marcas.
