KILGARVAN

-

MFL DIV1 -our Kilgarvan/Tuosist Minors travelled to Laune Rangers today for their second game in Division1 minor football League. Kilgarvan/Tuosist lined out without their starting goal keeper. A tremendous first half performance by our team saw us go in 4 points up at half time on a scoreline of Laune Rangers 1-9, Kilgarvan/Tuosist 2-10. Kilgarvan/Tuosist playing against the wind in the second half and with our stand in keeper who got injured being replaced by our corner forward. We were 6 points up half way through the second half, Tadgh Sugrue had a bullet of a shot hit the cross bar to deny him a certain goal. Laune Rangers got a goal against the run of play and 3 points in quick succession to put the sides level with 5 minutes to go. A penalty put Laune Rangers a goal up with the clock running out and a final lucky goal finished off the match to give Laune Rangers the win. This was a very competitive game of football and our lads played very well. Credit due to all our players, Cormac O’Sullivan and Tadgh Sugrue both carrying injuries into the game worked their socks off and brought the game to Laune Rangers, great link play by our backs Jack Foley and Liam Twomey who were ably assisted by the rest of the backs. We saw some lovely scores by Donal O’Sullivan and Daniel Casey. This was a super game of football and we were extremely unlucky not to win it. Final score Laune Rangers 5-14 Kilgarvan/Tuosist 3-14. Austin Stacks B proved to be too strong for Kilgarvan on this occasion. Kilgarvan were missing players due to injury and player restrictions due to school football but we still had plenty quality on display. Richard O’Sullivan scoring a beauty of a point from near the 45. Stacks came back into the game and scored the next 4 points before Kilgarvan’s Patrick O’Shea found the back of the Stacks net with a well taken goal shot. Patrick followed up with a point.
