ORAL HISTORY RECORDING
TRAINING Hosted by Iveragh Information Technology Training Ltd. in partnership with Kerry ETB, Joe McGill and Connie Broderick will deliver an Oral History Recording Training Course at the O’Connell Adult Education Centre in Cahersiveen. Starting this March, participants will develop Oral History Interviewing techniques as well as examining the legal and ethical issues relevant to gathering Oral History along with digital voice recording and editing techniques. The training will also explore how oral history can contribute to the local heritage of communities and identify suitable ways of showcasing their research.
Training will run for 2 hours one evening per week for 10 weeks. The training participants will contribute to a unique project entitled ‘Iveragh Remembers’ which will be available on podcast afterwards. A payment of €50 will be required from each person or representative of a local community or organisation and is open to people living in the communities of South Kerry.
