Clúid announce 59 more homes in Killarney town

HOUSING charity Clúid have announced a second major housing project in Killarney.

Following on from the news that the housing body are to build 61 new social houses at Derreen by the end of next year Clúid have announced that they have acquired a further 59 unfinished apartments at Oakwood in the town.

The units are part of an unfinished apartment complex and the apartments will undergo small-scale works to ensure they are ready for occupation before the end of 2018.

The apartment scheme is comprised of 44 one bed apartments and 15 two bed apartments spread over four floors.

The building and units are disabled-friendly, with wide doorways, access ramps and designated parking spaces.

Clúid has been providing housing in Kerry for several years and already manages 45 properties in Holycross Gardens and 15 in Oakwood.

Once the latest constructi­on and acquisitio­n projects are completed, Clúid will own or manage 326 properties in Kerry.

We have been working in partnershi­p with Kerry County Council for a number of years now and this announceme­nt illustrate­s both parties commitment to providing good quality social housing for the people of Kerry.
