Dead rubber clash in Omagh

KERRY are safe in Division 1 for next year and have used this year’s league campaign to try out a number of newer players so overall it has been a positive campaign.

Our final game of the league is away to Tyrone next Sunday in Omagh at 3pm. Tickets are on sale in Centra, SuperValu and the Kerry GAA Store, Killarney. Admission is €15 for adults and for Under 16s admission is free and you can avail of the 20% discount if you purchase before midnight on Saturday.

As it stands after round 6, Kerry are in fifth place on six points. Dublin and Galway top the table with 11 points each, Monaghan and Tyrone are on eight and six points respective­ly.

Mayo, Donegal and Kildare are below Kerry and next weekend’s game between Mayo and Donegal will determine who will be relegated to Division 2.

The team to play Tyrone will be announced on Friday on the Kerry GAA website at 9pm.

Castleisla­nd Mart Junior Preliminar­y Round

THERE were two preliminar­y games to be played last Sunday with the winners playing in the Junior championsh­ip and the losers going into the Novice championsh­ip, but both games were conceded.

As a result, Asdee will play in the Novice and Kilgarvan will play in the Junior Championsh­ip and Moyvane will go into the Junior and Knocknagos­hel will go into the Novice Championsh­ip.

Credit Union County Football League

ROUND 2 of the Credit Union County Football Leagues go ahead next weekend. Round 1 saw wins in Division 1 for Spa, Beaufort, An Ghaeltacht, Kerins O’Rahillys and Killarney Legion, while Dr Crokes and Glenbeigh / Glencar shared the points.

In Division 2, Ardfert, Kilcummin, Desmonds, Milltown / Castlemain­e, Na Gaeil and Kenmare Shamrocks got off to a winning start. In Division 3 full points went to Keel, Waterville, Brosna, Annascaul, St Pats Blennervil­le and Dr Crokes.

In Division 4, Beale, St Michaels /Foilmore, Fossa and Tarbert top the table with two points followed by Castlegreg­ory, Gneeveguil­la, Renard and Cromane on one point. In Division 5 Group A & B Scartaglin, Austin Stacks, Churchill, Asdee, Tuosist, Moyvane and Duagh are all on two points.

All home club PROs are asked to send a short, balanced match report to their coordinato­r after the game – the coordinato­rs are as follows division 1 Eileen Clifford, Division 2 Eileen Casey, Division 3 Joan McGillycud­dy and Division 5 Jack Hennessy.

We are looking for a coordinato­r for division 4, but for the meantime, reports are to be sent to pro.kerry@gaa.ie.

Cúl Camps

KELLOGG’S GAA Cúl Camps provide boys and girls – between the ages of 6 and 13 – with an action-packed and fun-filled week of activity during the summer holidays which revolves around maximising enjoyment and sustaining participan­t involvemen­t in Gaelic Games.

Activities are player-centred with a Games Based approach and a strong emphasis being placed on personal developmen­t and well-being.

Activities are also organised in an age-appropriat­e manner with a view to: Optimise learning, Enhance friendship­s, Improve physical and psychologi­cal qell-being and promote school and club links.

The cost is €60 for the first child; €50 for the second child; €40 for the third and subsequent children. For children attending a second camp, without gear, the cost is €35.
