SUBWAY INTER-LEAGUE

THE Kerry Under 13s played their final Subway Group game on a snowy Charleville All Weather and defeated Limerick County 3-1. The goals came from Cormac Dillon and Alex Hennigan in the opening half and the win was wrapped up by a Sean Treyvaud goal in the second half.

This leaves Kerry in second place in the group on ten points from their five games with a plus five goal difference. Limerick District has topped the Group on 11 points from their games and are through to the provincial semi-finals.

Kerry will now await the outcome of the North Tipperary v Limerick Desmond game with the Limerick side on seven points from fourgamesandonaplustwogoal difference to see who progresses to the provincial last four.

Kerry also played the same opposition in a second game with the development squad winning 3-0. Owen Crowley scored twice with Oisin McGinley getting the other goal.

The Kerry Under 11 North players were in friendly action at Listowel Celtic with both leagues bringing three teams to the games. All the players showed the skills they have developed at the ETP. The Under 11 South players will have their friendly in the coming weeks.

SKECHERS NATIONAL CUP Under 14

ST Brendans Park made the long journey to Dublin to take on Leicester Celtic in the quarter-final of the Skechers Under 14 National Cup. Both sides had chances in the first half but it was the Dublin side that got the all – important goal in the 20th minutes.

The Tralee boys threw everything at their hosts in the second half and hit the post twice and had two balls cleared off the line in a day where it just would not go in for them.

In the end there was only the one goal in it as the Park’s great run in the competition came to an end.
