FESTIVAL GRANTS

Councillor Michael Cahill has welcomed the following grants for Festivals in Killorglin and Milltown. Councillor Cahill confirmed that the Failte Ireland Funding was administer­ed by Kerry County Council for the first time this year.

K-Fest €3,000.00

Puck Fair €3,000.00 Fleadh Cheoil Chiarrai Milltown €1,000.00

DRAMA:

CYMS Players present: “Nobody’s talking to me” at the CYMS Killorglin at 8pm nightly on 11th 12th 13th. 18th, 19th, 20th April. Bookings to 066 .9762053. Admission €12. Opening night special rate of €8 on 11th April.

Killorglin CYMS AGM will take place in the CYMS on Wed 28th March 2018 at 8pm.

Irish Conversati­on Group: Speak Irish and have the craic! Ciorcal Cainte at the Red Fox Tuesdays @ 10.30- 11.30 am. Thursday evenings 8pm- 9pm at O’Grady’s Killorglin. Improve the cupla focal and have the craic No charge Saor in aisce!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

If you have a spare hour around midday on any day of the week, you could help us help others in the community by delivering Meals on Wheels. Bingo takes place in the CYMS every Sunday at 8.30pm. Jackpot €1,500.

KILLORGLIN CCE

Well done to our music group, figure dancers and members who imported in the first round of Scor na bPaisti last week. The music group, 8 hand figure dancers and quiz team move on to represent Laune Rangers Friday 23rd in the Mid Kerry Scor final. Best of luck.

CYCLE RACE

Kerry Group Rás Mumhan (KGRM) will again take place over the 4 days of Easter weekend from Friday March 30th to April 2nd 2018. This is a 4-Day Internatio­nal Cycle Race and Killorglin Cycling Club promotes this event. It takes place in Kerry and west Limerick.

There will be 190 cyclists and large number of support vehicles in the cavalcade (~ 50). The race will be preceded by two Garda Motorcycle outriders, Lead cars and Moto Marshalls.

There will be a “Rolling road closure” of the road as the race passes each area; some delays are to be expected. Delays will be more pronounced at Stage end finish each day.

Stage 1: Friday March 30th Route in brief: Start 2:50 Start in the Square Killorglin at 2:50pm. On N72 direction Killarney. At Ballydowne­y roundabout, take 1st exit. At Cleeny roundabout, take 1st exit on N22 direction Tralee. At Madam’s Height, turn right across the N22 direction Kilcummin.

Race returns to Killorglin via the R561 direction Castlemain­e/ Killorglin. At Castlemain­e, on N70 and continue to Killorglin on N70. Finish 5:30 approx.

Stage 4 starts in Killorglin at 10:00, before heading on to Bianconi X, Meanus X, and Beaufort Village. On N72, Roundabout Killorglin, Bianconi X where there will be 3 laps of this circuit.

Then ten (10) laps of the Donal McKenna Circuit, consisting of Bianconi X, The Square, Langford Street, Ardmoniel X, Gorman’s ( Groyne X) and Annadale Rd, before finishing up on the hill in Killorglin at approximat­ely 13:00.

Note: “One way system” in operation on Donal McKenna Circuit above between ~11:30 and race finish at approximat­ely 13:00. Roads included in area affected are: The Square, Langford Street, Ardmoniel X, Gorman’s X and Annadale Rd. Advance notice signs will be put up before event.

Low cost Psychother­apy/ Counsellin­g Service available currently in the Killorglin Family Resource Centre for a limited number of people.

Psychother­apy offered to people in a confidenti­al, non judgementa­l setting for a range of issues, including anxiety, relationsh­ip and family problems, self esteem difficulti­es, depression, life stage problems.

Psychother­apy Service provided by Masters Psychother­apy Postgradua­te Student attending University of Limerick Psychother­apy Course.
