Smiles for Pony Tales as they raise RNLI funds
THERE was a little bit of everything to be found at the Pony Tales Stables family fun day last Sunday, as familes flocked to the centre to help raise funds for the Valentia Lifeboat RNLI.
From pony rides for the little ones, to bouncy castles. easter egg hunts, games, face painting, show jumping and lots of spot prizes to be won - there were smiles to be found in every corner of the centre on the day, which ran from 11am to 3pm.
“It went very well. We had in excess of over 200 people in attendance on the day. It was great to see so many people out supporting the lifeboats and they work they do,” said Tim Kettering of Pony Tales Stables, speaking to The Kerryman on Tuesday.
“We had face painting, in house show jumping for our regular riders and a little bit of everything for all to enjoy; we estimate that through the day, we’ve managed to raise over €500 for the Valentia Lifeboat team and their open day, which takes place on June 22,” he continued.
“My mother in law, Pam Hoardsley, she passed away recently and she was a lifelong supporter of the RNLI. It was very much a family thing, the RNLI and its work, because myself, years ago, I used to raise money for the Valentia RNLI, I used to put up the 21,000 lights in Beaufort every year,” he continued, speaking about his reasons for choosing the RNLI as his chosen organisation to raise money for.
“The RNLI is someone you don’t really hear too much about. They do things quietly and they raise their own money. They are a very worthy charity,” he finished.
